WOODLANDS W/L ROUND 8 21/2/10

Hi folks, back to woodlands view for round 8 of the teams of four w/l. Talking to the lads in the cafe before the draw and it has become very apparent that you need to draw the bottom end of the lake in the deeper water as the top end shallower pegs have become very hard?
The draw started and i was praying for a good un' after my last on the lake in the last round! out popped peg 37 again SHIT WRONG END OF THE LAKE. I know you are going to say but you won the lake and the match overall off the peg two rounds, yes i did but it had 2lb off it on the last round ( the fish have fins and they use them )?
So off i plodded to peg 37 with my head down and well pissed off at my luck at the draw bag chuntering to myself along the way.
As i sat on my peg pondering what to do i decided to go on a mainly pinkie attack as i didnt want to sit there again on the straight lead an blow out i set up as follows.
RIG 1, A 0.30gr garbo dc 13 float with a strung on bulk of stotz of 8's & 10's, 0.10 silstar line to a 20 808 and double no5 elastic, this was for fishing 14.5m at 12 o'clock.
RIG 2, Was a 4 x 14 j-8 range float shoted with a bulk and two droppers, 0.12 line to 18 pr27 and f1 micro band for 4 & 6mm hard pellet and 11 hollo elastic.
RIG 3, Was my lead rod set up for double corn only to be used if anyone around me had a carp.
On the whistle i put in 20 pellets at 14.5m on a 10 o'clock line to my left and started on my pinkie line at 12 o'clock with 6 pinkies in the fruit shoot pot every put in not wanting to overfeed them at the start and to feel my way in. After only a mins i had my first bite a small roach, a few more followed but only in the 1-3oz range but i was doing as well as anyone up my end of the lake so carried on. After about 2hrs i had 1 small 6oz tench 1 4oz skimmer and around 15 roach for maybe 2 1/2lb, i was beating the two guys opposite and the guy to my right on corner peg 35
but the guy on my left had had a 3lb carp and 2 1lb skimmers on the pellet. So with bites slowing on the pinkie i had a look on my pellet line shaking 6 pellets out of the pot and lowered the rig in and waited. After 20 mins of lifting draging 4 & 6mm pellet no bites so up the bank it went and back out on the pinkie for a few more bits, listening to the gossip on the bank it seemed that the pool was fishing rock hard with only i peg catching 47 same old pegs the one that won the lake on the last round?
That was the pattern for the rest of the match as bite's slowed on the pinkie i would have 10 mins on the lead and corn or on the pellet line. Into the last hour i had 2 bonus skimmers on the pinkie in amongst the odd roach as i could see no one was catching except the guy to my left on peg 39 who had managed to snare another carp. With 10 mins to go the guy opposite on peg 60 had thrown out the lead and was playing a good fish, when he netted it was the all out and looked to be close to double figures. As the scales came round i found out peg 47 had 37lb the same guy who had drawn it on the last round and with one team not turning up he had peg 45 empty to his right???? all the pegs to my left had broken double figures with the guy to my left weighing 10lb odd and i weighed in 5lb 14oz that put me 5th on the pool the guy to my right had 3lb.Over on the other side the guy with the 10lb lump weighed in 13lb and he was the only one over there to beat me i ended up 6th on the lake half way. A better result than the last match and not a bad weekend overall, our team done no good again and it seems that there are a few fish being caught on the other lakes but for some reason back deans is fishing rock hard, even Ade Mason asked me what i thought about it, why was b/deans fishing so hard and i couldn't give him a good reason?
Thanks for reading i hope it warms up soon i am brassed off with this cold weather now!
